The castle near Doncaster used to be owned by Richard Duke of York, who died at the battle of Wakefield in 1460; father of both Edward IV and Richard III, and apart from traditional Yorkshire weather is an interesting and enjoyable place to visit. This year Neville, Howerd, Clarence and Woodville Households all killed each other on alternate days...good fun and better than TV (although just a little damper!).
